musescore refuses to play

musescore playback system can't play audio suddenly. the playback head line thingy is stuck on bar 1 and theres absolutely no audio playing (even when adding new notes). I use Linux btw.

My potential guesses on why it happens:
1. I'm using Bluetooth headphones
Before, I had speakers but they broke so I switched to using Bluetooth headphones. Maybe that has to do with something?
2. I switched to a different application temporarily and listened to audio on a website, and when I switched back to musescore studio, the audio refused to play.

its only when I completely restart my laptop that musescore studio's audio finally works again. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
