musescore.org offers outdated Muse Sounds Manager installers for Linux
Yesterday, I downloaded and installed Muse Sounds Manager on a new Fedora installation and saw that it was an old version (1.1.0.587) without Muse Drumline, etc. It appears that https://musescore.org/en is currently serving up outdated Muse Sounds Manager installers for Linux.
When I visit the site under Linux, I am offered two download buttons for Muse Sounds Manager:
- “Download Muse Sounds Manager (DEB Beta)” – links to https://muse-cdn.com/Muse_Sounds_Manager_Beta.deb
- “Download Muse Sounds Manager (RPM Beta)” – links to https://muse-cdn.com/Muse_Sounds_Manager_Beta.rpm
These links download the outdated 1.1.0.587 version of Muse Sounds Manager. The correct links should instead be:
- “Download Muse Sounds Manager (DEB)” – linked to https://muse-cdn.com/Muse_Sounds_Manager_x64.deb
- “Download Muse Sounds Manager (RPM)” – linked to https://muse-cdn.com/Muse_Sounds_Manager_x64.rpm
After manually downloading and installing Muse_Sounds_Manager_x64.rpm, I now have Muse Sounds Manager version 2.0.3.659 installed, and everything is working as expected.
Please let the website people know they need to correct the download links.
