Mouse zoom precision counter-intuitive

I have to increase Mouse zoom precision to some arbitrary number in order to get smaller % zoom?
Yes it's taken me this long to work that out.

It would help if the zoom didn't calculate the whole page percentage when you initialise the piece and then completely fail to update it as the spacing between staves changes.
Having just watched Martin's excellent presentation on FOSS design I feel this needs to be flagged up.
