Poor choice when tieing over a bar

In the attached example, in bar 19 I placed the first note as a dotted 1/4 and then selected dotted whole note for the next note as I want a tie over the bar.

Although the number of beats is correct, the display misplaces where the tied 1/8 note should be in the bar.
