No sound from Musescore 2.0 Beta score

This post resembles at least one recent one in which insufficient info was supplied. Apologies for any duplication. I am working with a Mac, O.S. Yosemite 10.10.1. I have the earlier version of Musescore. Musescore 2.0 Beta starts and quits with a loud click. No other app that I have shows such a behavior. When I try to play back a score, there is no sound generated. In the past, this issue seemed to self resolve after the Musescore 2.0 Beta app had been open for about 30 minutes. That is, sound was generated. I attempted to restore the settings using the instructions in the Musescore handbook, but this did not work. No such file was located. Maybe the instructions need to be updated and clarified for Musescore 2.0 Beta I have had the same problems with Musescore 2.0 Beta using a backup Mac that has an earlier O.S. The problem has happened using several different musical scores. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
