Q: Fixed distance between quarter notes

• Feb 10, 2011 - 10:25

Dear all,

I have a specific requirement for my score to be layed out rather mathematically than pretty, and I wonder whether this can be achieved in musescore.

This is what I mean by mathematical:

  • Imagine a grid where the vertical grid lines denote a fixed measure of time. A vertical grid line represents a quarter note, and 4 vertical grid lines represent one bar.
  • Imagine a song consisting of 8 quarter notes. Then each quarter note must be placed on a grid line, which means that the distance between two quarter notes is fixed, even where the bar is in between.
  • Imagine a song consisting of 16 eighth notes. Then the first, third, fifth, etc., note must be place on a grid line.
  • And so on.

I hope you understand what I am trying to say. Is it possible to set the formatting such that it meets this requirement?

Thanks,
chiccodoro
