Insert notes

Please advise how to change the length of a note without overwriting the next one ?
Or how to change from overwrite to insert mode ?
I searched in the manual for quiet some time, but couldn't find it.

Welkom in het nederlandstalige gedeelte.
MuseScore heeft momenteel geen insert mode. De enige manier om noten te verplaatsen is knippen en plakken.

Because I'm unsure whether you understand Dutch:
MuseScore currently doesn't posses an insert mode. The only way to move notes is using cut and paste.
