Measure numbering

I want to start the measure numbering on the measure no. 3. And then I want to restart measure numbering on the measure no. 14. How do I do that?

Right-click on the first measure and choose Measure properties. Check the box Exclude from measure count. Click Apply and do the same for the following measure. You can also navigate between measures using the arrow buttons in the bottom left corner of the dialog.

Then, right-click on measure 14 and open Measure properties again. Lower the value for Add to measure count to -11. The number may be slightly different depending on how you count.

Note that a section break will reset the measure count.

The process of restarting measure numbering depends on the specific music notation software you're using. Here's how to achieve this in a few popular programs:
MuseScore:
Starting at Measure 3:
Right-click on the measure before where you want the numbering to start (measure 2 in this case).
Select "Measure Properties."
In the "Numbering" section, choose "Start new section."
Enter "3" as the starting number.
Restarting at Measure 14:
Right-click on measure 13.
Select "Measure Properties."
Choose "Start new section" again.
Enter "1" as the starting number.
Sibelius:
Starting at Measure 3:
Go to the "Numbering" section in the ribbon.
Click on "Create System Break."
Choose "Bar Number Change" and set the new starting number to "3."
Restarting at Measure 14:
Repeat the above steps for measure 13, setting the starting number to "1."
Finale:
Starting at Measure 3:
Use the "Measure Tool" to select measure 2.
Go to the "Measure" menu and choose "Numbering."
Select "Begin New Sequence" and set the starting number to "3."
Restarting at Measure 14:
Repeat the steps for measure 13, setting the starting number to "1."
Dorico:
Starting at Measure 3:
Select the first measure you want numbered (measure 3).
In the Properties panel, under "Bar Numbers," choose "Start new bar number sequence."
Enter "3" as the starting number.
Restarting at Measure 14:
Repeat the above steps for measure 14, setting the starting number to "1."
General Tips:
Consult your software's manual or online help for specific instructions.
Remember to adjust any rehearsal marks or other numbering systems accordingly.
Pay attention to the formatting and ensure the new numbering aligns with your desired layout.
I hope this helps, Artur! Let me know if you have any further questions or need clarification for a specific software.
