Add Simile marks only for voice 2

• Apr 23, 2024 - 02:06

I am reaching out to the community seeking assistance regarding the usage of simile marks in music notation software, particularly for non-empty measures within Voice 2.

To better illustrate the challenge I am facing, I would like to attach an image showcasing the desired placement of simile marks in a specific musical passage. The image demonstrates the desired notation within a non-empty measure for Voice 2.

I kindly request your guidance and insights on how to achieve this notation using the available tools and features within the software. Any suggestions or workarounds that can help accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and expertise. I look forward to your response and assistance.

Yeah, I was wondering why the person was asking for a screenshot before I realized it. I've hit Mark as Spam. I don't know if multiple people CAN do so (?).

Anyway, idareizigerxx, as far as I can tell, the simile marks cannot be used as you want. They only will repeat the entire previous measure(s). If you must have both appearance and playback, I'd imagine you could do it by inputting the actual notes in Voice 2, making them invisible, and then adding the simile mark as a text element.

I don't believe that this is standard usage. If not, that would explain why it can't be done. Too many possibilities for non-standard notation to try to include them all.
