This subject had been discussed here several months ago, from the third comment: http://musescore.org/en/node/29331

But a feature request was never filed.

We need this issue must be resolved this issue now, because this lack of graphic representation of a barré really leaves a sense of unfinished business, and leads to an unclarity as to when the presence of a barré or not.

Actual result (for Cminor)

I added a first implementation of barré for fretboard diagrams. In the editor click shift+left mouse button in to toggle the barré line.

I am not a guitarist and don't know if the following limitation are ok:
- the barré line always starts on the most right string in the diagram to the leftmost dot for that fret
- there can be only one barré line

implemented in 65656416b5

According to initial tests, it seems to work very well :) Many thanks.

With the implementation of tablatures and fretboard diagrams, the 2.0 would have really missed something without the availability of this barré line. Everything is now consistent. Perfect.

Now, the first impressions?

The line is successful, neither too thin nor too thick. Validated! :)

Then, the expected result was more like the first F, on the attached picture, with a full line (6 strings), ie with no apparent dots (so: just a line). Depending on the method you use, you can add a dot or two at the ends (as on second and third F). I prefer the first (because it is expected?)

However, you can not get (unless I'm mistaken) the others barrés (of 5, 4 strings and less) with the same single line. The "anchor" of a dot at least seems necessary for working.

One would expected that the presence of an "O" or "X" over the starting fret determines the breakpoint of the barré? As we can see from the last three chords diagrams on the same previous image: Cm, A7, F/C.

Is it really disturbing? The tests are really too new to make me a definite idea. Visually, as already said, we do not really expect it. But ultimately, it could constitute aid (visual) for the practitioner?

With this dot appearing below the barré line, the doubt is thus no longer allowed on the making of a barré of 3 or 4 or 5 strings... Must be confirmed with the practice, but finally, it is maybe a very good point?! :)

I did a quick test with import a GP file. It is not working. Too early perhaps.

Don't understand very well: "Results in a barre extending from the right of the diagram into the very far right". Do you have a screenshot with a barré line (e.g, four or three strings) without any dot under the line?
