MIDI output on Mac and Windows platforms
Hi men!
I have been using MuseScore for a while, and I find it really enjoyable as regards the graphic aspects of writing music. What I'm not satisfied with is its sound capabilities. Even though I use different software for composing, i.e. audio-MIDI sequencers supporting VST, I would appreciate the opportunity to redirect the output of MuseScore to MIDI in order to drive some external VST plug-ins instead of the internal soundfonts. I had a look at the Preference dialog, but couldn't find any setting that allows to do so on my Mac, nor on my Windows PC (there is a "Midi input port" section, but no "Midi output port" selection). Any solution I didn't find? If not, let's hope that the Mighty Developers can introduce this feature in the near future.

There is no direct MIDI output in MuseScore so far. You can try to setup MuseScore with Jack MIDI to use a VSTi as demonstrated in this post http://musescore.org/en/node/5415#comment-14836 or in this post http://musescore.org/en/node/3267

I learn from your reply that Jack is now for Mac OSX and Windows, too. I was convinced that the Jack system was just Linux software. Many thanks for this valuable information.
