Is this a bug?
Hi
I was using MuseScore 0.9.4. When I clicked File-New, and I selected "Create New Score from template", and I clicked next, it seems to be freezing for a moment, and then the templates appeared, while I selected "Create New Score from scratch", and I clicked next, the instrument list appeared immediately.
I once thought that this issue will be fixed in Release Candidate 0.95, but when I downloaded the latest release candidate, and installed it, same thing happens.
I wondered if this is a bug.

It looks like the expected behavior to me and nothing different than what's explained in the handbook: create new score Could you explain what you expected otherwise?

Have you tried it out yourself? What I expected is that no matter if I select the option "Create New Score from template" or the option "Create New Score from scratch", the next step will appear immediately, not hang on/freeze for more than one second.
You may keep it like that if that is expected behavior.

Hi Shaun, I missed your point about the freeze.
What platform do you run MuseScore on? Win/Mac/Linux?
How many templates do you have in place?
In reply to Second freeze by Thomas
I am using Windows Vista Home Basic, and there are six templates in place. Really, when I selected "Create new Score from template", sometimes, on the windows titlebar, it would be appear like "MuseScore: Not Responding," it is not only freezing.

I'm using Windows Vista as well and can't reproduce this behavior. But I presume MuseScore scans the file system for the templates which may take resources depending on the state of Windows like how fragmented the file system is. So for the moment, I wouldn't consider this a MuseScore bug but let's keep it in mind because the way MuseScore gets to the templates could be improved.
