I guess it's possible. I have no problem copying text from OpenOffice to MuseScore. It should be the same from MS Office.
Of course, you copy only the text, not the style. Moreover you can't copy text in the vertical frame itself. You need to right click on it, add an horizontal frame in it, and right click on the horizontal frame to add a frame text. Then you can paste your text in it.

Thanks a lot for this, didn't know that you have to put another frame. That's quite practical...
Anyway I can't get the pasting done. I'm using mac os x 10.5.8, MuseScore 0.9.5, and Textedit 1.5 to get rid of the text styles. I've tried to change the settings of Textedit so that it would only show and copy the plain text. Then copied text and tried to paste it as you advised.
Any suggestions?

I can reproduce on Mac... It works ok on Windows.
