Scrolling the score

• Nov 19, 2020 - 15:15

I would like the ability to scroll the score using scroll bars on the bottom and right edges of the editing area, like in most of the world's software.

At the moment, I'm trying to select a 140-measure section of one staff. Click-dragging and Ctrl+scrolling are very inconvenient over that long of a distance, and my scrolling finger gets sore from doing it constantly. The Ctrl+F method doesn't work for this because it moves the selection at the same time as the view.

In the meantime using the Timeline or Navigator view might make this a bit easier? As well as realizing that you can scroll horizontally by holding Shift while scrolling.

Thanks Jeetee, I didn't realize you could make selections through the timeline. The score display responds by scrolling horizontally but not vertically, but it's an improvement over what I was doing before.

I knew about Shift+scroll, but it isn't practical over long distances. At a zoom level where I can comfortably select the exact symbol I want, it takes 23 turns of the scroll wheel to go through my 140 bars.
