I use macOS High Sierra 10 and musescore 3.6 and can't find a pathway to the session directory. I have tried everything, whats the point in autosave if its impossible to access the files. Chris

Try the menu path Edit > Preferences... > General, where all your Folder paths are defined. On the General tab you will also see a checkbox to enable or disable Auto Save.

I have tried that! but doesn't work for me,
Okay now I have it, nowhere does it mention that you have to hold down the alt key. So for any Mac user in the same predicament to access your session files;
Click finder, click go on the top bar, you will find a menu but if you hold down the same time the alt key a slightly different menu will appear with, library (the hidden one). click this, then click, Application support, click, Musescore,click, Musescore 3 and then the session files will be listed as for example scl16819 format.
