Piano bass clef notes
Hi. Totally new to this, but trying to notate something I've heard and I'm struggling to add left hand notes where there is a right hand note! It adds a rest instead and moves everything along.
Very simple minimalist style, 3 notes with each hand.
What am I doing wrong please?

You may have inadvertently turned on insert mode rather than the default step time note input mode.

If that doesn't help, please come back and explain in more detail, what you are trying to do {e.g using a piano staff, enter a quarter note C on the lower staff followed by an 8th note D etc - or perhaps a quick hand drawn example of what you hope to end up with), what are doing to try to achieve that (which keys are you pressing and in what order, what mouse operations ate you doing etc.) and what is happening that you are nor expecting.
