Tie problem

• Sep 8, 2023 - 09:51

Hi,
I am restoring old note sheets. Here is Lullaby of Birdland under construction.
In img 1 you can see I have tied a note (say note 1) to the next note (note 2) which is in repeat section 1. There is another repeat section, of course. There is also a note (note 3), which should also be tied to note 1!
I haven't found any solution.

You can't delete the entire post, but you can edit it from the three dots in the top right. Others have edited their posts to leave just a dot, but if possible if you have found a solution it is better to leave the post and say what you did for the benefit of others who may encounter the same problem.

You had a whole bunch of solutions! I solved the problem with method 3, because it was simple enough for me as a newbie.
You may have noticed that I have a similar problem with voice (singing). The underline should also continue to repeat 2. I placed there (in the second repeat) a "Line" from palettes. After some excercise with attachment points it works fine... except the fact that is is slightly thicker than those fed by "Words".
Anyway, great solutions. I will study them all.
Thank You!

The underline (melisma) should actually continue only until the rest before the repeat barline:

Do read up on Melisma in the Lyrics section of the MS4 Handbook:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/lyrics#enter-melisma

Make sure that your lyrics are entered in the same voice as the corresponding notes.
