Recommended Minimum H/W for MS4.2
I run Linux/Ubuntu Studio on a Compaq Presario (Celeron 900 / 2.2GHz) / 2GB memory). It's old I know, and while developing a score I hit the limits. The application got lost in Swap Hell and started thrashing and never recovered. So, obviously, I'll need stronger machine to continue.
I reviewed the Forums and don't see any advice on this subject. Before I head off to Dell, et. al. for a modern machine, are there any recommendations from the developer team on minimum hardware recommendations? VST3 really needs lots of memory, more voices, more and more and more. A friend was telling me his composition machine (cinema scoring) is an 8-core intel machine with 256GB memory. Laptops don't usually sport those resources. Recommendations for a laptop machine running or Win/Linux and MS4.2 going forward? Extra points for posts to help the Apple crowd with same questions.
