I'd totally love to see an online version!!! I get tired of downloading and installing every time there's an update!
I recently enrolled for a free trial period and had to give my credit card information.
Initially MuseScore charged zero Euros, because the trial was free, and that was o.k.
Then I cancelled my subscription within the free trial period.
So there should be no costs whatsoever for me.
And in no time thereafter MuseScore charged my credit card with 85 Euros for the period to come.
Since I didn't want a paid subsciption I sent an email to MuseScore that they must return that illegal payment.
No reaction at all from MuseScore came.
I call that theft, which is a serious crime.

MS3 is totally open source, has a long history and good reputation. MS4 has some security concerns because of the closed source Muse Hub which may still require system admin privileges to run. It may be safe but with admin access it is a risk which you can't mitigate.

An online version would be most welcome even if it just covered basic scoring.
