Deleting Rests
I added a bar of 5/4 as the next to last measure of a piece, then entered 5 beats worth of notes. Fine. But after the 5th beat there is a rest that I can't get rid of.
Furthermore, the last measure, which is back to 4/4, includes a dotted half note and a quarter-note rest -- again, fine -- but following that is a 2-beat rest I can't delete. What's the secret? (I would have thought that the number of beats HAD to match the time-signature.) Thanks

Is the rest in Voice 1?
MuseScore does not allow us to delete rests in Voice 1. But you can hide them. Just select the rest and press v. It will turn gray and will not appear in print or PDF.
Also it's possible that you've somehow set Actual meter to 6/4. Look in Measure Properties.
But it's most helpful to post a score that demonstrates the issue.

Thank you for answering! Turns out I was one short an eighth note in the measure, and that eighth-note rest was not going to go away until I supplanted it with a pitch or used the rest. I didn't realize it until I did a play-back and heard the hiccup.
Thanks again!
