alternate chord configuration with 2nds
I tried x and shift+x, but all 3 of these look bad to me. I want the whole notes stacked, but the red note to the right with stem down. Is there a way to flip the stem without moving the note horizontally?

That looks nice. I guess the solution is to remove the 3rd voice for that measure. Thanks a lot.

Always use Voices 1 and 2 first. Only use 3 and 4 if you actually require third and fourth voices.
