flip stem also flips lyrics

• Oct 24, 2024 - 22:17

Hi,
the 'x' command on a note correctly flips the stem, and if there are lyrics attached to that not, they remain in place. But when 'x' is applied to several notes or to a measure the lyrics are moved from below, their usual location, to above ... is that indented?

Best,
Andrea

If you select a note and press X, the stem flips - this is the expected behaviour.
If you select several notes by clicking on the first note and then [Ctrl] click on each of the rest and press X, then the stems of all selected notes flip - expected.
If you select the whole measure by clicking on an empty space in the measure or by clicking on a note and then [Shift] clicking on another note and press X then everything that can flip flips - again, expected behaviour, because you have selected more than just the notes.

In my case (Mac + MSS 4.4.2) the two selection methods give the same results: stems flipped AND lyrics shifted. I also tried shift-click and drag to select ONLY the notes (if I include the lyrics then pink dashed lines are shown connecting each lyric syllable to its note, very nice), but the lyrics are also shifted. And while trying other combinations I found that shift-x moves each note-head to the other side of the stem.

So I didn't find a way to ONLY flip the stem on many notes simultaneously.
