Notating Keyboard Pitch Bends

• Nov 23, 2024 - 16:38

Hi folks! I'm trying to notate keyboard synth pitch bends. Most of what I can find documented centers around guitars and the tablature notation:

https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/guitar-bends#add-bend

I don't like the "angled" look of bends when they show up in keyboard notation. I like the way it looks on tablature, including showing (in my case) a curved, upward arrow, showing the amount of the bend (eg, +1), and hiding the starting pitch so as not to clutter the display. The starting pitch is like a grace note, whereas the melody line follows the arrival note, so that's why I want the arrival note to be the one visible.

Here's how I have it today:

Here's what I want:

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

Only a workaround:
Add a Scoop from the Arpeggios and glissandi palette
Re-position and re-shape the Scoop by clicking on it and dragging the editing handles
[Ctrl][Shift]-drag the Scoop to a palette of your choice

Add a fingering to the note (1, 2, 3 etc.)
Edit the fingering to say +1, +2, +3 or whatever and adjust its font size
Turn off Auto-place in the Properties tab
[Ctrl][Shift]-drag the Fingering to a palette of your choice

To use, place a modified scoop from the palette, add a modified fingering and adjust
