Additional staff for a few measures
Good morning.
In a score for string orchestra, I need an additional staff for the first violins for some 16 measures. I only know how to add a staff for the whole piece. Where in the documentation can I find the correct procedure for this?

Das hier ist ein deutsches Forum.
Man kann nur Instrumente für das ganze Stück anlegen, nicht für Teile. Aber im Stil für die Partitur kann man einstellen, dass Zeilen ohne Inhalt (also quasi nur Pausen) nicht angezeigt werden. Das kommt optisch wahrscheinlich auf das hinaus, was Du brauchst.
Siehe "Formatierung->Stil->Partitur->Leere Notenzeilen innerhalb des Systems verstecken".

Das habe ich auch versucht, aber die Zeile bleibt sichtbar in der ganzen Partitur.

Dann hast Du irgendetwas falsch gemacht. Lade mal die Datei hier hoch, dann kann man sich das anschauen.
If you only want to see the measures with some notes on it, mayba you can use the function "ossia" in the menu os "staff properties". After you have added the staff for the instrument where only some notes must be played, you can 1.) select the measures before the measure (compás) where the notes started 2.) in the properties panel ofd the staff, select the button "Ossia", the press "Apply"/OK. and you will see that the measures without notes in this staff, desappear. Only the wanted "notes" can be see and play. I have included a .pdf document with the description. I do not know if this is what you want.

I’m afraid I still don’t get it. ich komme bis zu diesem Dialog, aber was sollte ich noch machen bevor ich auf ok tippe?

Du bist total falsch dort. Siehe meinen ersten Beitrag:

In der englischen Version:
"Format->Style->Score->Hide empty staves within systems"

I can’t bring any of both methods to work. But maybe there is hope. There is already a feature proposition:

Too bad that there is no workaround.
