Mark a staff solo

What do you mean, "mark" it solo? Is it that you want it to play solo? If so, you can do this by going to >Display>Mixer.

i think he means something like this (see the introduction staff in attachment). actually, i need this feature too.

Yes, I am looking to have a staff play solo. This is actually in Capella reader a very simple feature, whereby I just put the cursor on the staff I wanted played and then it plays just that staff. It isn't obvious to me how this can be done in MuseScore. Display Mixer didn't work for me...or I am doing something wrong. Maybe you can give me exact details how to use the Mixer.

Try the handbook: Change and adjust sounds
In Display -> Mixer there is a solo checkbox for each instrument.
