Loop selected measures for playback only.

Maybe this can be done, but I couldn't figure it out...
I'd like to be able to loop selected measures for playback only - e.g. if I'm working on a particular part of a song and just want to hear a selection of measures for playback. I don't want to set up repeats in the score itself, this would just be for studying a particular section.
This could either be by highlighting the required measures, or perhaps specifiying measures in an option box.
