Baritone Horn in SoundFont
Hi,
I am writing a piece that includes a part for the baritone horn, and I notice that the instrument that gets picked from the default SoundFont that ships with MuseScore to associate with the baritone horn is actually the French horn. Can you include a true baritone horn sound in the SoundFont for the next release of MuseScore?
Thanks,
Geoff

Currently MuseScore uses General MIDI which does not have baritone.

So, short of finding a SoundFont that includes the MIDI brass sounds plus the baritone horn, I'm out of luck? Sounds like I need to find a SoundFont editor...

You can try Viena (one n only)

Thanks for this suggestion. I have installed Viena and may well use it at some stage if I get unhappy enough with the existing SoundFont. In the meantime, however, my workaround has simply been to use a euphonium instead since, as a tenor tuba, it has a similar enough sound to the tuba to make the SoundFont's sound here acceptable.

I changed the sound for the baritone horn so that it uses the same sound as Euphonium in revision 3312 of the development versions of MuseScore.

Sounds like a good idea. What I understand the Baritone Horn to be sounds more like a tuba than a French horn.
