help with notation in Musescore
How do I get the prima volta, or first ending, line to extend to measures in the following line? I know how to double-click and drag to include the desired measures on the same line, but can't get it to continue on the following line of the score. Any help appreciated!
That's why I'm "Slowpoke".

Actually, dragging is not the correct way to extend voltas and other lines, even just within the same line. Notice how the dotted line shows it still attached to the original end point as you drag? Dragging is meant for fine adjustments to the visual display only. You need to use Shift+Right (or Shift+Left) to actually change the attachment point. See the Handbook under Volta or Lines for more information.

Many thanks!

Perhaps you can help me with an associated issue- now that I have done the volta lines correctly, I can't find how to get the playback function to start the repeat at the indicated measure instead of at the beginning of the introduction.

It would be easier to help if you attached the score you are having problems with (see "File attachments" link right below where you type your response), and give precise steps to reproduce the problem.

Thanks both for the responses. Just checked the scores that I had trouble with before attaching them, and they now play properly. Don't know what I did to them, but all seems to be good now. BTW, this site is a great resource. Donation made.

Have you set a repeat sign where you want it to go to? It's hard to do more than guess. If you post the score here we can be accurate.
