Synthesia - instruments
Hello,
Im trying to find the instrument in musescore that is equal to Synthesia's Ensembles (if there are as such): SynthStrings 1, SynthStrings 2, String Ensemble 2.
All of those: Violins 2, Viola da gamba, Violoncellos, Contrabasses, Double Basses; come out as String Ensemble 1.
Thank you

I don't know what synthesia is, but all sounds in MuseScore are a function of which SoundFont you use. The default uses the General MIDI standard for the organization and labeling of its sounds. If you want other sounds, you'll need to find a SoindFont that includes them.

Synthesia is just another program that plays midi files.
I noticed that in different programs some instruments have different names, whether it's because such instrument does not exist in the program so it just puts it to default , or the creators just decieded to name them differently.
Im testing all of my creations (which I do on musescore) on Synthesia (nvm why). The thing is, the instruments there are a little limited and they have different names.
So I was wondering if anyone here who uses the same program knows how to choose the instruments I mentioned earlier. I thought the program is pretty popular actualy :P

Instrument in MuseScore mixer and in Synthesia should be ordered the same and according to this list : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_MIDI

Wiki:
"Ensemble
49 String Ensemble 1
50 String Ensemble 2
51 Synth Strings 1
52 Synth Strings 2
53 Choir Aahs
54 Voice Oohs
55 Synth Choir
56 Orchestra Hit"
If the insruments are truely named the same to every program, then I think this group is missing from musescore.

Are you look at the Mixer? That,s where you'd set the specific sounds for playback. Slight variation in naming, but they are definitely there. I suspect you are looking at the instrument list for score creation, which Indeed won't list things the same way, since printed scores would never be labeled that way.

Ohhh! you are right! I thought the instruments in the mixer are the same as the list for score creation...
Thanks :)
