• Oct 26, 2014 - 10:16

Good morning at all,
I ask if is possible from the next 2.0 release to have a virtual keyboard playable via qwerty keyboard.
I know that is impossible to record but only to play with computer keyboard.
thanks

I'm not quite sure what you mean. You an already enter notes using your QWERTY keyboard - just type the letters. That feature has been in MuseScore since the very beginning. In addition, 2.0 Beta/Nightly builds also feature an onscreen piano keyboard you can use to enter notes. Is it something different from these you are asking for?

Thanks for your answer.
I mean if is possible to use the virtual keyboard inside musescore 2.0 like the VMPK keyboard.
I ask if there is a possibility to play the virtual keyboard with qwerty keyboard while musescore is in play mode.
For example in encore 5.0 and in Sibelius 6 and 7 there is a virtual keyboard playable via qwerty keyboard.(in this cases there is a possibility also to record)

I hope that my bad english can be understandable.
Thanks.

I'm sorry, I still don't quite understand. Is what you are talking about somehow useful for note entry? Or you just want a keybaord to play for other reasons, having nothing to do with note entry? MuseScore is a music notation program. Any feature that does not help in creating notation is not likely to be added.

... I think if I get the chance to play such a part of the flute, while the MuseScore play the piano part,i can create a new score of my composition min a simple way. Will be how to use an external midi keyboard but without the ability to record.
I understand that musescore is a notation program but i think that there are more people that use the sw for creation new music.
For me will be the closure of a circle.
Thanks

Sorry, I was replying to the cogaston who seemed to be asking about the playback sound.

The piano keybaord is designed to let you enter the pitches that should display. Press a "C" to enter the pitch "C". Whether that "C" will play back as a C or transposed depends on the transposition of that staff, just as it does in real life (eg, play a "C" on a trumpet, out comes a Bb). It isn't clear to me what you would want instead. If you wish to press the keys corresponding to how it *sounds* rather than how it *displays*, simply switch to concert pitch mdoe while entering notes, then switch back before printing. Most people do that while entering notes regardless of whether they use the piano keyboard or mouse or computer keyboard or MIDI to enter notes.
