Problem with key signatures
Hi there, I'm having a small problem with key signatures:
After key example e flat, the flats are coming up beside the notes and the notes are up a half tone.
Any help with this would be appreciated.

I downloaded the file but I'm not understanding the problems. I see some notes with accidentals, some without, and they all play exactly as they should for how they are notated. Are you saying some accidentals appeared even though you never entered them, or that some accidentals you entered never appeared? Can you please give specific steps you took, what you expected to see happen, and what happened instead? I'm guessing it's just a misunderstanding about how MuseScore works, but it's difficult to be sure. Or even, maybe you were thinking the Fb in the lower octave in the first measure should have applied automatically to the F in the upper octave? That's not how the rules of notation go; accidentls apply only to the same pitch.

when i have been imputing the notes i was using the keyboard
the eg i sent you showed the signature to be in e flat this means that every time i insert a note that is an e it should be played as a flat , the signature at the start tells me this and i should not need to be told again as the score i sent you is showing this as you can see as you can see from the eg i sent the flat is shown before every flat note. this showed only again when i play a natural
i have now discovered that if i use the mouse and not the key pad it is imputing correctly . which is great so i will use the mouse and not the keyboard. i would prefer to use the keyboard but is there a setting i should use that makes the keyboard work correctly . When i first started i could use the keyboard and the notes went correctly but this changed two weeks ago to the problem i am having now . Also as stated you can see from my original the notes are a half tone up .
to enable you to see what i mean i am attaching two new examples showing the same notes the same key signature but one using the keyboard and one using the mouse so you can see what is happening clearly

I'm still not understand what you are talking about. There no Eb's anywhere in either of two files you say have problems. The notes in the first file (the one you posted several days ago) are Fb A Cb Fb | F Fb Fb Fb | Fb A A A | A A, and the notes in the second file you just posted are Fb | Fb | Cb | Cb | A. Are you perhaps misreading the notes as bass clef? Anyhow, the accidentals appear *exactly* where they are supposed to according to standard rules of musical notation.

Perhaos when you say the notes are a half step up, you mean you didn't actually enter Fb but really just typed "E"? If so, that does indeed seem very strane. Does this happen on every score, or just this one? If I take one your samples, go to note entry mode, and type "E", I get an Eb (no viaible flat sign beause of the key signature), just as I expect. Are you saying if you go to note entry mode and type "E", you get an Fb as shown here?
