Midi keyboard setup
Just started using MuseScore - it's great!
I have a Mac ( with MacOS Sierra), and my USB midi keyboard works fine with Garageband, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the keyboard or the OSX setup. I have also used the keyboard very recently with Windows based notation software, with no problems.
In MuseScore.Preferences.I/O I see under PortAudio:
API: Core Audio (no other choice available)
Device: Built-in Output (there are other choices including Soundflower, but playback of a score works fine so I think the setting is correct)
MIDI Input CoreMIDI, USB MIDI Device. (No other choice available)
I have the Enable MIDI Input button on
When I input notes using the computer keyboard they are entered, & I hear them as expected.
When I try to enter notes with the MIDI keyboard, nothing happens & I don't hear anything.
Has anyone any suggestions please?
Thanks in advance

Ciao Tim, have you already taken a look here:
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/note-input#midi-keyboard ?
Connect your MIDI keyboard to the computer and switch the former on
Start MuseScore (this must be done after the keyboard is switched on)
Welcome!

Thanks for this - you have led me to find the problem!
I had VMWare Fusion open, running Windows 7, on my Mac, in the background, and I had used W7 with the score writing software I used before, and not shut Windows down - I've often left it in the background as it takes ages to start!
Having shut down Windows and VMWare, that has freed up something, and the keyboard now works with MuseScore.
I don't suppose anyone will ever have the same problem, but you never know!
Again thanks for your help
