First ever attempt at musical composition.
To be honest, I don't know a single thing about music comp. I just have been free winging it with the software... It isn't finished obviously, but I would really appreciate any constructive criticism and or suggestions.

Zero harmony, no thoughts.
I suggest you first prepare the instrument and later in the program.

I thought I made it clear that it was unfinished. The blank spaces are obviously room for experimentation to work with ideas and save them, delete them later, or later add them in somewhere. Only the connected part will stay. Anyway, thanks for the comment.

Hey, don't take Juze's criticism too harshly. I had to start somewhere as well. One thing I use a guide when composing is "could I play it, or even attempt it"? Another is musical flow. There has to be some logic and feeling to music. Try to analyze your piece with those ideas in mind.
My seven year old loves to work on my tablet in MS and has been "scoring" now for a few months ever since he started learning to play Recorder and understanding musical basics. All his first scores were eighth/sixteenth notes, all over the map. I told him that if he couldn't play it on the piano, then to start slower and not jump around so much. I certainly didn't extinguish his exuberance, just tried to temper it, so that goes for you too. Keep on composing and experimenting!

well I know I couldn't play anything on piano since I was born with one hand anyway. I will take your advice to heart. Honestly I don't care much how it turns out, since I find it be a great way for me to relax and think at the same time. Do you have any pieces that you've created that I could possibly learn from?

Since I only came to MS a few months ago, I don't have any completed scores yet, but I do have many in progress. Most I have are from an old program or Finale, and still need conversion or retyping.
Regarding your abilities, just run with it. The piano is but only an example of how to hear what you are doing and MS can do that quite well if you can't. So relax and enjoy hearing what you are doing. I would recommend downloading some of the sample ones in the Made With MuseScore forum, there are some very great ones there.

I apologize for such harsh criticism, but I am used to the works of harmonic and experts in construction. If you want, I can find something specifically for exercises on the piano, or give a short lesson of harmony. Then you will be able to do something that they could be listening. More. Everyone will want to listen.
Not bad for a first try. Because I am also a beginner (if you look at my song post, you can see my first song) I will only say one thing: NO one except the very best pianists with fingers faster than the speed of light will be able to play the vivace sixteenth notes. They are all over the place, which can sound really good but is often impossible to play.
Other than that, I shouldn't say anything else, considering I am writing my first real performance composition right now. Keep composing, though!

Thank you for having the courage to post your very first attempt at composition. I quite liked it until the parts where you have the rests where you're waiting to figure out what to put in next. Yes, your transitions are abrupt,. but you knew that. I also think you need to develop some of the sections you have so they are long enough to enjoy them and feel them out properly. And hey, you can see my first handful of attempts, too.
Keep in mind that the midi sound files have different overtones than the instruments.The sound is going to be a little different on the piano. Chords that sounded good on the computer will sound bad on real instruments.
