measure length indicator

I know that in Guitar Pro6 there is an indicator at the bottom of the page that indicates how many beats you have used compared to how many beats you have left for the current measure.

Like this:

3.75:4

Meaning that you have used 3.75 of 4 beats in a standard 4/4 measure.

If Musescore has this feature, I have yet to find it. It would come ion handy when dealing with a lot of syncopated rhythms and you're not clear if you are a 16th over or a 16th under your beat count.

Is there one that I'm just not seeing? Or is there a plan for future releases?

I think Guitar Pro needs this, because it lets you put more notes in a measure than fits in it, and it also allows you to leave the measure incomplete, so this information can help you avoid making stupid things.

Musescore does not allow notes to exceed the measure duration and it always completes the remaining space with rests when you remove something, so you really don't need to worry about that. If you need to check how much is left of the measure, just look at the rests following the note that you're entering.

MuseScore does display a Status Bar at the bottom of the page. By clicking on a note, for example, the Status Bar indicates the beat (or decimal fraction thereof) on which the note sounds. It also shows the pitch, duration, measure count, staff number...

If it is not already displayed, the Staus Bar can be enabled through the View menu.

Regards.

Thanks a lot. I'm more of a guitarist and have just started playing in a horn band after about 5 years. I'm just used to using GP6 for all my scoring. I decided to try Musescore because of the transposing feature (very handy by the way)
