Measure of the wrong length - one rest too many.

• May 13, 2016 - 04:41

I have a piece of 4/4 and I put two crotchet or quarter note triplets in a bar. Fills the bar, right? No. The system has an extra rest in there that I can't get out.

It comes from the next bar which instead of one whole note rest has two quarters and three eighths.

I can't get it to go back where it belongs.

Saw a thread that said Ctrl-R would reset it but it has no effect at all.

Can I get help please, anyone?

Ah... sorry. It is gone now. If it happens again I will screenshot it or save it or something.

This time after posting to you I kept trying and I managed to delete the whole bar. In fact I deleted two bars - and yet the music still has 32 bars which is what it was set for.

And then I rewrote the bar and it all went well this time.

Is it possible I clumsily hit something than made it create whole new bars, I wonder? At a time when it should not have. So's everything got mixed up.

Next time I'll capture it first thing.

Thanks for the quick response.

:)
