Trills don't change pitch - extend past original note

I have an arrangement that I am going back to and "cleaning up"and when I replace the trills, they no longer change pitch. They just sort of "triple tongue" the same note. I had this function working before but cannot remember how I got it to work.

Also, I cannot get the trill to extend over ties notes. It only shows over the first note in a tie.
