Problems retrieving latest version in Linux Mint 10

I have Linux Mint 10 with MuseScore 0.9.6.3 from the repositories. I tried to download version 1.0 from the website, by clicking on the link click here to install directly from your browser . I received an error message, with instructions to type apt:mscore in my browser address bar. This offered to install the dummy package mscore. If I try apt:musescore it tells me the package is already installed, and won't offer me another version.

How do I get version 1.0 in Mint 10?
