6/8 in a 9/8 bar
Is it possible to use the tuplet function or some other feature to effectively turn a 9/8 bar into a 6/8 bar?
I'm trying to write a dotted crotchet and then six semi-quavers in a 9/8 bar, but have it written as though it were a 6/8 bar, so the dotted crotchet ends half way through the bar. I've been trying to use the tuplet function to see if I can do this, but I just cannot wrap my head around any of this. Could someone please give me some pointers on how to do this?

Thank you very much! I think I was over-complicating the matter by trying to the "Other" function and make up a tuplet relationship that didn't work.

Trust me Tuplets can be most confusing. Not sure what can be done about it. They do work once your figure out what Musescore does want in terms of entry. Personally I feel it should be based on Beats rather than Note values, but then there are others that claim they are the same. And in a way it's true, but difficult to figure out intuitively. Trial and error seems to lead mostly to errors.
The main question is... how long is the bar? If it is 6 beats taking up the same time as 9 beats then tuplets could be your answer. If it is 6 beats taking up 6 beats then you need to change the Actual duration of the measure to 6/8. Also, what do you want it to look like? A 6/8 with a dotted crotchet taking up half the bar followed by 6 notes would mean that those notes were semi-quavers.
