Deleting Parts

• Jul 2, 2016 - 13:00

I've created a new 4-part score and I've created the four individual parts in turn from Part 1 to Part 4 which are showing as tabs on the main window to the right of the main score.

Now, for whatever reason, I want to delete the Part 1 I've created, but how do I do that? I can't use Control+Z because that only deletes the last Part created, which in this case would be Part 4, which I don't want to delete.

So the question is: how do I delete parts other than the last part created from the main window?

Thanks

Highlight the Part 1 you have created by holding shift, clicking on the first note, and hold the right arrow key until you've highlighted all you want to delete. Then, WHILE HOLDING SHIFT, you simply press the delete button. I have had problems with it deleting EVERYTHING though; make sure you aren't pressing ctrl.

Does that help?

Not really Ian. What you suggets is just the standard way of deleting the notation on the part. I want to delete the whole part, manuscript and all as Control+Z (undo) does for the last part created.

I'm sure on MS1 there used to be a dlete 'x' on the parts tabs which you could click on to delete the part but that seems to have been removed on MS2 - why I wonder?

The menu File>Parts allow to "delete" parts, which no longer appear in the tabs. In fact it deletes the part score, but not the musical part which remains in the main score.

Is that what you are looking for ?
