Notes don't fit in the bar
Hello, I'm trying to transcribe this song: http://www.scribd.com/doc/18501110/Alicia-Keys-Fallin
I've managed to finish page 1 and 2 just fine without any problems.
BUT now I'm on page 3 - The first two bars, the notes aren't fitting in properly, I can't understand why...
First bar: last semiquaver doesn't fit
Second bar: there's space for an extra quarter note
why is this, what can i do? :(

Did you see that there are triplets and quadruplets? See Tuplet .
Unfortunatly it seems to be hard/impossible to do a quadruplet of 4 16th notes in the time of a quarter dotted.
hey, thanks for your response, yeah I noticed the "tuplet" things and thought that they might have something to do with it not fitting properly....
is there any way around this problem?

Yes in fact there is. Enter a quarter dotted note, select it, go to notes -> tuplets -> Others and enter 4 in the time of 6. Then press 3 or select a 16notes in the toolbar and enter the 4 pitches for the quadruplet.
