Christmas Jazz

I'm in a jazz quintet, and we're about to start practicing Christmas music. Does anybody have any quintet arrangements for Christmas jazz songs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in a choir and we sing a lot of music in 5 parts (soprano, mezzo, alto, tenor, bass). Some arrangements are jazzy. I also play in a big band and I've thought of trying some of the music with our sax section.

I'm afraid not. I might have at some point, if the sax section in our big band buys the idea. But bare in mind that the original arrangements are published sheet music. Our choir leader has made the arrangements and she has pubblished the music, so there are rights involved.

I've seen some jazz Christian arrangements. Do you have access to a good library? In Ohio we have something called "Ohiolink." You can get a book from practically any university in Ohio. Might be something to check out if you have a local university. I can look and see if I have any of the titles of the books I borrowed.

I do remember them saying that with a little tweaking "We Three Kings" could be redressed as a 5/4 piece ala "Take 5." I tried it myself but didn't quite see how to do it.
