Show measures only for certain systems?

I use MuseScore to arrange music for my A Cappella group. Often there is a part that only appears for the chorus, or bridge, that I don't want to appear on the music for most of the song. I can set that part's staff to "invisible", but there is still a spot on the page for that part - it's still taking up space.

Is there a way that that staff could appear *only* when I need it to? Am I missing something?
