Is there a hairpin preference to put them above a staff?
I just started using Musescore a few weeks ago. I created a score for the choir that I am in, and the choir director said that he prefers to have hairpins above the staffs instead of below them. I could drag each of the hairpins above the staffs, but I would like to know if there is a preference setting that would put them above the staffs by default. It would be easier to have them all neatly the same distance above the staffs that way, and less work too. Is that possible in the current version of Musescore?
Thanks,
Mike

Style> Edit General Style> Articulations.
I have not manipulated these but you should be able to get what you want here.

It turns out that doesn't work. Hairpins are in a separate category from articulations in the Edit General Style window. The settings for hairpins affect their shape but not their position.
Also, the settings for articulations adjust their positions, but you can't set them to be above the staff in all cases. Maybe you wouldn't want to. They are set up so that they always go on the side of the staff that is opposite of the direction the note stem is pointing. So the articulations are above the staff if you flip the stems so they are pointing down.
But what I am interested in is the hairpins. Is there a way to position them above the staff other than by manually dragging them there? if not, is there a reliable way to line up things like hairpins neatly in a horizontal row so they don't look like some guy with a laptop manually dragged them into position (even though that's what happened)?
