All audio file are being converted to .mscz suffixs and are un readable.

XP Pro.

I have a Roland Micro BR. I sometimes use it to record my playing and then import the resulting file in Audacity. I have to save the file in the BR first and then transfer it via USB.

I seem to have done something to cause this: When I save it on the BR, it saves as a .mp3 file. However, for some reason, when I transfer it to the computer, it appears with the .mscz suffix and the file is much smaller. Thinking that it might be a zipped file, I tried to "unpack" it but my compression program does not recognize it as a .zip file.

Do i need to changes the suffix for it to unzip, and can anyone point me to where I may have accidentally thrown a switch to cause this?

I haven't used this for a while, and I recall that it started happening just as I stopped ( I moved and am just now getting back to certain projects). I somehow think it is connected to quicktime, but I may be wrong.

Thanks.
