Discovering Stardust

I watched a bunch of Christopher Nolan movies and Hans Zimmer inspired me to create a song which doesn't have a distinct melody. This started as a string quartet, but I didn't like how the soundfont handles long notes so I started messing around with the mixer and found a cool vibe:

My first reaction was to look for a melody slashing through the dark background like a murder weapon but, upon reflection, I think it's better the way it is as it leaves the most feared bits to your imagination. Would suit a TV mini-series (s'long as it's murder-related, of course). I like it.
