Pizzicato on MIDI recording

• Mar 24, 2012 - 11:59

I've used Musescore for my composition at School. To submit it I need a sound recording and score.

I've so far successfully saved the score as a PDF and saved the sound as a MIDI file, however the pizzicato in my composition doesn't appear in the MIDI file.
Is it possible to put the pizz. on the MIDI or not, and if not could I save the sound recording another way?
Thanks

You would be better to save your recording as a WAV file.

In theory it is possible to to put pizz in the MIDI file, but it is a different Program Change sound from the normal strings.

I'm not sure whether MuseScore does this in MIDI export, so you may have to edit your MIDI in a sequencer to get the performance you require.

Easier overall to save as a WAV.

Incidentally - why a sound recording? Can't your professors hear the music from the score? If not they shouldn't be teaching IMO

Thanks for the help, I will do that
I'm not too sure why they actually need a recording but if I can include the pizz. even better!
