WACOM Bamboo mouse support

• Apr 26, 2012 - 16:57

Hello

I have a WACOM Bambo mouse and never experienced problems in any application.
However in Musescore the WACOM mouse is unusable,

The right mouse click still brings a small menu forward, in which I'm able to select
some menu options with a left mouse click.
But a left mouse click on any one of the menu buttons has no effect.

I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the WACOM Bamboo mouse
but this did not solve the problem.

I had the problem already in older 0.9x Musescore versions and then decided
not to use Musescore unfortunately but discovered few day back
after installing the version 1.2 after some test that a standard USB mouse It works fine.
I have windows 7 installed, but also had the problem earlier in XP and Vista

Is this a know problem with the WACOM mouse? Is there a solution.

Cheers Jaap V

Hello Lasonic

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have seen this thread before, but it did not help me out.
From there I googled again WACOM on his side explain that the pen+mouse tablet
has two modes which are "pen mode" for the pen and "mouse mode" for the mouse - which sound logical.
This makes a difference in pointing at the tablet between absolute and relative pointing mode.

Using the pen (absolute mode) with Musescore works fine, but using the mouse (relative mode) is a problem.
In config panel - (wacom) Bamboo preferences it is possible to reconfigure the mouse
using the "pen mode" also and yes the mouse works fine in Musescore.

I found in the WACOm configuration menu also a configurable pop-up menu
And selected to get this menu by clicking the Roll wheel and switch in the menu beteen pen and mouse mode.
This works fine, so when I start Musescore I switch the mouse to pen mode.

But better would be if Musescore support the mouse in relative mode. (as nearly all application do)
