Cannot remove bar line

• May 13, 2009 - 21:15

MuseScore 0.9.4 on Vista 64-bit

I added some bar lines (repeat symbol, actually) to the end of a measure (say measure 13) and then added the matching beginning repeat to the front of a proceeding measure (say measure 6). I am able to delete the beginning repeat bar line, but I cannot remove the ending repeat bar line.

I searched through the forums and see a bunch of issues with bar lines in general, but I didn't find an issue describing this problem.

I can click and highlight it, but or appears to only unselect it. I can double-click it and get the resizing square and can make the lines taller and shorter, but not magic sequence of buttons removes the repeat bar line symbol.

I tried selecting the measures before and after and deleting, but only the notes disappear, not the repeat bar line.

How can I remove these bar lines?

Replace? Ah, that works.

Excuse my confusion, but I don't think that's very intuitive. I dragged the repeat bar lines in place picturing that I was placing an object in the measure (like a note, or an accidental, etc.) and not replacing an existing object. Since I thought I was placing an object, I figured I could remove the object. The beginning repeat bar lines worked this way (place and remove), but the ending measure repeat bar lines don't work this way (replace and replace again). The inconsistency lead to my confusion.

Thanks, very much, for the tip.
