Object positioning difference between Windows and Mac
I've not found anything in the forum or issue tracker on differences between interpretation of .mscz files under Mac and Windows but wording may make it difficult to find so I thought I should post here rather than open a new issue.
I have recently been using Musescore on Windows while travelling and noticed that the position of some objects is different when the files are opened on my Mac.
Dynamics seem to move significantly - enough to be clear on Windows and entirely behind a note on Mac. Fingerings also move but the difference in position is very small - I probably wouldn't have noticed if the change in dynamics markings hadn't made me look for other differences. I haven't tested a full range of objects to see which are and which aren't affected.
Is this a known issue?

No it's not a known issue. In MuseScore 1.2, the only difference should be the default text font on mac and windows. If you are using a font on your windows not present on your Mac, Musescore will substitute it by a close one, but it will be different, and so the spacing could be different too.
If you have any simple sample to share, preferably using MuseScore nightlies, they will be very welcome. MuseScore 2.0 comes with a small test suite to make sure we don't have this type of issues, currently the small numbers of tests we have, don't show any problem between Windows and Linux. The tests don't work on Mac yet.

Here's a short file created using Musescore 2.0 on Windows.
The two .png files show how the first measure looks when open in Musescore 2.0 on Windows and Mac.

Which version of 2.0 are you using? The same on Mac and Windows?
This is what I see in nightly 10d6afdfff on Windows Vista
And on Mac 10.7, same nightly
It looks ugly but pretty similar !

It seems you see both as it appears on my Mac which suggests there is something different about the Windows version in my Windows environment.
The versions I'm using are:
74b4a45 on Mac OS 10.6.8 (I first noticed this a week ago and have upgraded twice since then with no change)
and
7c7d7a3 on Windows 7 (64 bit). This is a little bit older but seems to be the most recent binary available (I don't have a build environment on Windows at the moment).

Ok. Let's wait for the nightly to be aligned. They have been some recent changes regarding dynamics placement.

The new Windows build which became available a couple of days ago fixed the problem. There's now no difference between the position on Windows and Mac.
