A puzzle piece

The other day, for a Completely Different Project, I needed to experiment with Bezier curves to design a pattern relating to my puzzle shop... what a wonderfully versatile program is Musescore!!!

I thought. This has actually turned into a puzzle it wasn't meant to be. I made a score and printed it: just what I wanted, on the attached PDF!

But then when I closed and reopened, half the slurs had disappeared. I've also attached the MS file. I know that ver. 2 has a proper "inspector", which should presumably help, but there doesn't appear to be any way at all (I'm using 1.1) to find out even whether a note has a slur attached. Is there? Where have they gone?
